Honour the Lord

with your first wealth,

with the first fruits

of all your crops.

Proverbs 3:9

The Eldwick Church seeks to be a loving and generous community and our work would not be possible without your practical and financial support.  Our purpose is to serve Christ through our worship and service to the community and to do this we need to pay our way.

How can I contribute?

  • Regular standing orders – set up an electronic payment or ask your bank to make a regular payment directly into our bank account.  By paying by standing order you never need to have the right amount of money when you come to church, and if you are unable to come, for whatever reason, the church still receives your donation.  To set up a regular payment, please use the standing order.

  • Regular payments in the offertory plate that is available as you enter church. We have envelopes available if you wish your donation to be anonymous.

  • One-off donations – these can be put in the offertory plate, sent by cheque to our treasurer or made via electronic banking.  If you wish to send a cheque please make it payable to 'The Eldwick Church' and send to Sharron Arnold at 42 Effingham Road, Harden, Bingley BD16 1LQ.  For online payments, please use the details from the standing order form.  â€‹

  • Gift Aid – the government allows charities to claim back tax paid on donations. Where possible, if you are a taxpayer, we would ask you to complete the Gift Aid form. We can currently claim 25% of any donation you make and this forms a significant proportion of our annual income.

Legacies

We are not dependent on legacies to support our work.  However, if you are able to consider leaving something to the church in your will, this will help us to do more work, invest in new initiatives or to donate more to needy causes; which cannot be funded through our regular giving.

Volunteering

No church can run without an army of volunteers who make things happen.  If you would like to become involved in helping in the café, keeping our gardens tidy or in any of the many other volunteer roles, please contact one of the people on the 'Our Team' page and they will point you in the right direction.

Thank you

Every gift we receive, however large or small is significant.  It helps to fund the people, buildings and other resources required to further our purposes of; being a supportive hub in the local community and being known as a place where people can come for practical and spiritual help and support.

It costs around £2,000 per week to keep the church open, fully functioning and serving the community.  About half of this goes to the Diocese and Circuit to pay for ministers and their housing, and to support ministry in other parishes and churches with smaller and poorer congregations, who are unable to pay as much.  The key concept is of mutual support – so we call this 'Share'.  The other half pays for running our building, supporting our community café, donations to needy causes and other charitable work.

To support all these efforts, we rely upon the money that our members and other donors give to the church and also upon the willing, generous commitment of their skills and time to voluntary roles.  Both are important.  The more we receive, the more we can give and achieve!
